And along with the warmer weather, you may see the students once in a while working and studying outdoors....like the students with Sr. Cabrini as she was tutoring in the courtyard on Wednesday!
We celebrate Spring and we welcome the upcoming Holy Week, knowing that Jesus Christ is indeed victorious! There has been a lot happening over the last week....from Track, Baseball and Tennis events to Cheerleading competitions, from groups participating in the Catholic Schools Telethon to ongoing preparations for Fiesta de la Familia!
May your family be blessed as you prepare for the holiest of weeks in our Church...St. Gregory the Great, pray for us! ***Special Note: There are a few slideshows in the blog this week! So much has been happening in our SGS community....if you can not see all the pictures, simply click here and it will take you to the blog on the website where everything can be viewed! God bless!

Middle School Visits The Wall That Heals
The exhibit is housed on the grounds of Central Catholic High School here in San Antonio and is open for viewing by the public through this weekend.
Telethon raises over $200,000 for Catholic students...and SGS groups are there to perform and celebrate Catholic schools!
The more we submit, the more money back to the school!
Here a few helpful reminders from Leticia Vasquez, our Box Tops Volunteer Coordinator:
- Make sure you submit 20 Box Tops in order to qualify for a free dress day.
- When gluing Box Tops on sheets, avoid gluing the Box Tops on top of each other and gluing over dates! The company receiving the Box Tops will not give credit to the school.
- May 16th is the big day! The class that submitted the most Box Tops will be having a pizza party that day. We will include all Box Tops collected throughout the school year that were not submitted for free dress days and the Box Tops collected until May 13th.
- Please also submit Labels for Education and Tyson labels! When you submit the Labels for Education, make sure the UPC codes aren't cut off.
- Thank you for taking the time to participate in the Box Tops promotion....blessings to all!
- The next FDD for Box Tops is April 22nd. Please submit box tops and help earn money for the school! Deadline for turning them in for a FDD in April will be April 17th- Thursday.
So what are the most popular food booths at the festival?
If you guessed funnel cakes and hamburgers....you're right!
Please sign up to work at your homeroom festival booth! Sign up sheets are outside each classrooom or you can contact your homeroom teacher or room mom for more information.
Get geared up to celebrate Fiesta with some of the most delicious food and treats around! And while you're at it, keep selling those raffle tickets! The final turn-in date and time for all ticket sales is , 4 PM.
Anyone interested in volunteering for extra hours to set up or clean up at the festival is encouraged to contact Spirit of Service @ email@example.com or Judy Sonka at the front office. We need volunteers to assist with clean up from 8 - 10 pm on the night of the festival. If you work that shift, you get DOUBLE service hours! Please contact Mrs. Sonka if you can work at that time.
ABSOLUTELY!!! We went past our 1,000 donation goal for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Drive!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
Because of some kind and caring grandparent helpers, Mrs. Ynostrosa's Kinder class will have the honor of displaying the banner and decorating the bird this month and Ms. Aguilar's Kinder class will get to decorate baby bird eggs to go along with the bird in the nest! Just in time for Fiesta!
Also due to some other classes overwhelming generosity, the 4 classes who brought in 3 times their enrollment or more in donations should be allowed the honor to decorate a flower to put on the donation tree. They are:
Mrs. Smelser's 1st grade, Mrs. Wussler's 1st grade, Mrs. Adeeko's 4th grade & Ms. Stanbridge's 7th grade
On behalf of the Society of St Vincent de Paul and the NJHS, Thank you again so very much!
A heads up for our May donations drive: to help stock the pantry for summer, maybe we can triple our goal--- maybe we can get someone to dress up as an incentive to celebrate?!? Hint Hint: "here comes peter cottontail, hopping down the bunny trail, hippety hoppety, gomez, sanchez, father!" More info to come!
Spirit of Service wishes everyone a very Happen Lenten Season and

Pack 375 had an awesome time at McGimsey Scout Park for Archery and Shooting instruction last Saturday. We wish to thank all the Scouts and Adults who attended this memorable event. Mr. Aleman, one of the Pack's leaders commented, "Like all of our past events, I believe the adults had more fun than the Scouts!!!" Palm Sunday commemorates the triumphal entrance of Christ into Jerusalem (Matthew 21:1-9), when palm branches were placed in His path, before His arrest on Holy Thursday and His Crucifixion on Good Friday. It thus marks the beginning of Holy Week, the final week of Lent, and the week in which Christians celebrate the mystery of their salvation through Christ's Death and His Resurrection on Easter Sunday.
May you and your family have a blessed Sunday and we will see you all on Monday!
