We are moving deeper into the summer and the past few weeks have been important as well. We celebrated a special Mass and joined in a dinner to say farewell to Mrs. Gomez. And we look forward to the adventures and promises of Greatness that the new school year will provide.
Please read the whole blog for updates and reminders!

You can help make that transition for new families a good one! The Charger Connection program is looking for sponsor families to assign to new families entering our Great school.
Our goal is to try to match a sponsor family with a new family that has similarly aged children. The sponsor family acts as a liaison between the school and their assigned family - answering questions about uniforms, lunch, festivals, free dress days, etc!!
You can even earn five parent volunteer hours for being a sponsor family!
New families will be introduced to their sponsor family at the Charger Connection Mixer that will be held on Friday, August 8th at 7pm in the Parish Hall. Please let us know if you can serve as a sponsor family! Send an email to Judy Sonka at firstname.lastname@example.org with your family information (grades of your SGS children & contact info). You will be contacted soon!
For all the details - check out the letter below from PTC President, Richard Salas....just click on the link!
Please join us for the Liturgy at 5:30 pm followed by a wonderful dinner of hamburgers and hotdogs prepared by our own PTC! You and your children are invited! Class lists will be posted after the Mass so you can find out your child's teacher and then go eat dinner with your teacher.
If you plan on attending, please RSVP - click here to go to the RSVP page on our website!
Earlier in the week, an email was sent to parents with other suggested Math practice websites from Ms. Garcia, Math Tutor. Encourage your child to keep learning and practicing those Math skills! In case you missed the email with math websites - you can click here for the complete list!

A Note from Mrs. Hanson
Greetings from the Admissions and Advancement Office of St. Gregory the Great Catholic School! I wanted to take this time to share with you the plans God has for me.
In mid-May, weeks before Mrs. Gomez’s retirement announcement, I let her know that I would be accepting a new position in a family business—a career move that allows me to commit more time to my family. This decision has been steeped in prayer with my full trust in God’s guidance, but it still has been a difficult and emotional decision for me.
It has been an honor and a privilege to spend the last five years of my life being a part of your family life at St. Gregory the Great. St. Gregory's has been such a tremendous blessing for my family. My five boys attended St. Gregory's for the last 11 years. How can I express my gratitude for the dedication, love and nurturing they received here? I have loved every minute of my five years of work at St. Gregory’s. How can I express my joy and privilege in serving you and your beautiful children? Truly, a bit of my heart will always be here.
I humbly ask for your prayers as I venture into something new. Please know that my prayers continue for all of you, for our New Principal and for our new Director of Admissions and Advancement. May God guide the selection committee, and may we, as St. Gregory the Great Community, do everything possible to make our new leaders feel at home and loved.
You’ll still see me around! I hope to continue to serve the school in a volunteer capacity. And, like you, I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for this wonderful school. Thank each of you for your support, commitment and dedication.
In love of Christ that binds us all together!
